Can't Send Emails But Can Receive? Read This First
Did your email work fine in the UAE, but stopped sending after you traveled abroad or changed your network?
If you're able to receive emails but cannot send, the issue is usually related to your internet provider blocking Port 25—the default port used for sending emails.
*Note: ISPs generally do not block Port 25, but many in the US, UK, Europe, and Australia do.
Why This Happens
Most email applications (like Outlook, Apple Mail, or mobile mail apps) use Port 25 to send outgoing emails via SMTP. If this port is blocked by your current ISP, your messages won’t be sent—even though incoming mail works fine.
✅ How to Fix It
To solve this, we’ve opened Port 2526 on our mail servers. Please follow these steps:
- Open your email application's settings.
- Locate the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) section.
- Change the SMTP port from 25 to 2526.
- Ensure that SMTP Authentication is enabled.
- Do NOT enable SSL or TLS for this connection.
** SMTP Authentication Required: Always make sure "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is checked in your mail client.
⚠️ ISPs That Commonly Block Port 25
If you’re using any of the following ISPs, there’s a high chance they block Port 25:
- AT&T
- BellSouth
- Comcast
- EarthLink
- NetZero
- Verizon
- Cox
- MSN
- Charter
- People PC
- Sympatico.ca
- Telus
- MediaOne
- Flashnet
- Many ISPs across Europe, UK, and Australia
