Email Setup on iPhone (iOS)

Welcome to StickyHosting’s guide for setting up your email account on an iPhone running iOS. Follow these step-by-step instructions to configure your StickyHosting email using IMAP or POP3 settings in the iOS Mail app.

Step 1: Open Mail Settings

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap Mail.
  3. Tap Accounts, then Add Account.

Step 2: Choose Account Type

  1. Select Other from the list of email providers.
  2. Tap Add Mail Account.

Step 3: Enter Your Email Details

  1. Name: Enter your name (this will appear on sent emails).
  2. Email: Input your full StickyHosting email address (e.g., yourname@yourdomain.com).
  3. Password: Enter your email password.
  4. Description: Add a label for the account (e.g., "StickyHosting Email").
  5. Tap Next.

Step 4: Select Account Protocol

  1. Choose IMAP (recommended for syncing emails across devices) or POP3 (downloads emails to your iPhone).
  2. Ensure the Mail toggle is enabled.

Step 5: Incoming Server Settings

For IMAP:

  • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com
  • Username: yourname@yourdomain.com
  • Password: Your email password
  • (Note: Port 993 and SSL/TLS are automatically set by iOS when SSL is enabled)

For POP3:

  • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com
  • Username: yourname@yourdomain.com
  • Password: Your email password
  • (Note: Port 995 and SSL/TLS are automatically set by iOS when SSL is enabled)

Step 6: Outgoing Server Settings

  • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com
  • Username: yourname@yourdomain.com
  • Password: Your email password
  • (Note: Port 465 and SSL/TLS are automatically set by iOS when SSL is enabled)

Step 7: Finalize Setup

  1. Tap Next. iOS will verify your settings.
  2. If prompted, confirm SSL settings or tap Continue to proceed.
  3. Select Mail (and any other options like Notes, if desired) to sync.
  4. Tap Save to complete the setup.

Step 8: Test Your Email

  1. Open the Mail app on your iPhone.
  2. Send a test email to verify sending works.
  3. Check your inbox to confirm you’re receiving emails.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues:

  • Verify your server settings, username, and password.
  • Ensure you have an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular).
